Sitting back and waiting for a miracle sounds good, but you truly have to do the work to feel and function better.
Taking control and stating what you want with your doctor (especially if you are on medications for thyroid disease) is a big start. If your doctor refuses to do what you ask, then this doctor is not a good fit for you. Move on, you are paying for a service and if you are not receiving said service, why do you continue going to them and paying them money?!
Eating healthy, well-prepared foods. This means whole foods, meats that are grass fed and finished, organic vegetables and fruits (watch those serving sizes on fruits, they still contain sugars!), and properly prepared legumes, nuts and grains that are soaked and/or sprouted. If you do NOT soak and/or sprout them, the phytates in them BLOCK the nutrients in those expensive foods you just ate! Skip the boxed, canned, and bottled foods that have ingredient lists. If you HAVE to have some as backups to homemade, make sure you are reading the labels!

Make sure you are hydrated! You need approximately half of your body weight in ounces of water per day, more if actively sweating.

Work on your digestion! You can eat all the right foods, but if you are unable to pull the nutrients from the foods and utilize them, you may as well not spend the money on quality foods!

It is real work to get well, one has to be committed and ready to make change. It sucks to be sick, where each day you focus on simply surviving the day vs living the day and thriving. The choice is all yours.
No, this did not happen in 6 months! In fact, the 75 pounds I gained in 6 weeks, when my thyroid finally stopped working due to Hashimotos, took many years to fully come off. But I FELT like a million bucks long before the weight was fully off.
